Nathan Gerbe has been returned to Portland of the AHL.

Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have returned Nathan Gerbe to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
Gerbe made his NHL debut on Dec. 6 at Tampa, and finished with one assist in six games for the Sabres. Gerbe also missed six games with an upper body injury suffered on Dec. 13 at New Jersey.
