Vaclav Karabacek scored for the fourth straight game as Gatineau doubled Shawinigan 4-2. The tally was Karabacek’s 10th of the year and fourth on the power play. After scoring just four goals in his first 17 games, Karabacek has popped off for six in his last eight. Karabacek enters December with an even 20 points for the Olympiques, who return to work Wednesday versus Quebec.
WHL
Sam Reinhart picked up a power play goal plus an assist to extend his point streak to 10 games as Kootenay came from behind to defeat Seattle 5-2. The playmaking captain has amassed six goals and 22 points through his first 10-game block with the ICE. Kootenay closes the Western states swing Sunday at Everett.
Brycen Martin finished with a minus-two rating as Swift Current closed the Alberta road trip with a 6-2 loss at Red Deer. The Broncos are back at home Friday versus Lethbridge.
Eric Cornel snapped a three-game drought with a goal and a highlight reel assist as Peterborough pulled away late to earn a 7-3 victory over Ottawa. The two-point night boosts Cornel to eight goals and 15 assists through 24 games. Peterborough returns to work Thursday versus Oshawa.
Newly minted Sabre Jean Dupuy scored just 1:13 into the opening period as Sault Ste. Marie dominated Guelph 5-1. Dupuy’s sixth of the year gives him 20 points in 20 games. The Greyhounds play their third game in as many days on Sunday when they take on Sudbury.
USHL
Christopher Brown scored for the third game in a row as Green Bay earned a 3-2 victory at Sioux Falls. The Boston College commit has been on fire of late, producing points in 10 of his last 11 appearances to extend his team-leading total to 18 (8+10) through 19 games. Green Bay is back in action on Friday versus Bloomington.
AHL
Mikhail Grigorenko registered one goal, one assist and a team-high six shots to earn the game’s number two star as Rochester came back late but came up short in a 4-3 loss at Binghamton.
Drew Bagnall and Jordan Samuels-Thomas scored the other Amerks goals. Johan Larsson notched a pair of assists, while Nathan Lieuwen made 30 saves to move to 3-6 on the year. Lieuwen last recorded a win back on Oct. 22 versus Rockford.
Phil Varone assisted on the Samuels-Thomas tally and is now tied for second in league scoring with 22 points (6+16) in 21 games.
Joel Armia remained out of the Rochester lineup with an upper body injury.
The two clubs will face each other again Friday at Blue Cross Arena.

In case you missed it earlier, Linus Ullmark stopped all shots but one and Gustav Possler notched a pretty helper in MODO’s triumph over Lulea.
NCAA
Senior co-captain Brad Navin (-2) assisted on the game-winning goal as Wisconsin earned their first victory of the year 5-3 over Ferris State. Navin has netted two points (1+1) at the 10-game mark. The Badgers remain on home ice next weekend when they open the Big Ten schedule against Penn State.
Sophomore winger Hudson Fasching (-2) went without a point for the fourth consecutive game as No. 3 Minnesota was upended 3-1 at Northeastern. Fasching is stuck on five goals and seven points after his first dozen games. Christian Isackson added one shot on goal for the Gophers. Minnesota returns to conference action next Friday at Michigan State.
Max Willman finished with a plus-one rating as Brown edged Connecticut 1-0. Willman has gathered one goal and one assist in his first eight collegiate contests. He hasn’t scored since Halloween night in the Bears’ season opening victory over Army. Brown squares off with Holy Cross on Sunday.
Sean Malone remained out of the Harvard lineup due to injury as the Crimson doubled No. 4 UMass Lowell 4-2. Harvard visits Ivy League rival Princeton on Friday.
Justin Kea (2 SOG) earned his second fighting major of the season as Elmira was shut out by Evansville 1-0. Colin Jacobs (-1) supplied three shots on goal for the Jackals, who are off until Friday when they host South Carolina.
