The Rochester Americans rolled past Syracuse 7-1 in their one and only preseason game Sunday. Olivier Nadeau scored twice to lead the prospect scorers, while Viktor Neuchev (1+0), Aleksandr Kisakov (1+2), Tyler Tullio (1+2) added single markers. Jacksonville (ECHL) defenseman Robert Calisti led all scorers with pairs of goals and assists.
First round draft picks Isak Rosen, Noah Ostlund, Konsta Helenius, and Ryan Johnson were among the Amerks to not dress in the contest.
Anton Wahlberg left the game in the third period after getting hit with an offensive zone shot. Postgame reports suggest that he’ll be good to go moving forward, but it’s a situation worth tracking this week as the Amerks prepare for the start of the regular season.
