Tylers prepping with Jr. mates

So I conveniently forgot to mention Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis when noting Sabres properties in CHL camps.

Yes, Myers is in Kelowna today for the start of Rockets camp. It is unlikely that he’ll see the ice in either of the Rockets exhibition games with Chilliwack on Friday or Saturday before gearing up for Buffalo.

Waiting for an NHL deal, Ennis is also expected to skate in drills and scrimmages when Medicine Hat opens camp on Wednesday morning. The shifty forward has very little to gain by going to back to the Dub, so he’ll continue to be penciled in for a spot in Portland.

Rounding out camp notes, Mark Adams is set to fire up his first USHL season in Chicago. The 2009 pick will get moving on September 4th as the Steel ramps up to their back-to-back preseason tilts with Youngstown on the 11th and 12th.

Why do you think Ennis hasn't been signed yet?

I dont know if he is eligable for the AHL yet? IS he? I know Myers isn't. Thought ennis was in the same boat. Late birthdays or something.

  3. Ennis is good to go. Like Zagrapan a few years back, the late birthday made him one of the older players in his draft class. He'll be 20 in October, making him eligible for the AHL (along with the fact that he's also played four seasons of junior).

  4. 11:18 – could be a myriad of things. I would think that Ennis is going for a rookie max deal, and the Sabres are taking their time. I imagine he'll be signed in camp.

Do you smell trades coming Bakes, because it seems like we don't have room for any guys to make the leap? Definately no room on defense, and if they plan on Ellis or McCormick being on the starting roster, then we have no room for any forwards making hte leap?

I agree. There is no room for Myers right now. Weber is more mentally ready right now and there is barely enough room for him right now.Myers WILL be back in Kelowna this year. There is no need to rush him in his development.
